Story: Set in a post apocalyptic world where vampires named for Greek gods, and witches rule. It is a classic vampire story with some real twists: The plot centers around a male vampire named Eros who falls in love with a human named Samuel. Eros wants to "save" Samuel and make him a vampire, but Eros evil vampire lover, Dionysus has other ideas. Matters are complicated by Eros' sister/lover, Persephone, an ambiguous Bookkeeper and three witches, who know secrets of the universe and The Laws Of Eternity.A deep tale of decadence,erotica and Major stylized horror themes,shot around surreal and post apocalyptic sets on one hand and lavish,dark Gothic atmospheres on the other. "The Brides of Sodom" should hardly disappoint the cult films' lovers,LGBT's audiences, or those who enjoy their films, unconventional, dark,but, displaying a cast of gorgeous people, and, some scenes thatwouldn't be imaginable in most mainstream circuits, while still havingan over all, brave movie, presenting with grit,one of those"sensational and scandalous" situations, indeed, very timely, debated,so vigorously, in America,these days! Here, maybe to avoid an excessivecontroversy, the main story gets moved over, with its wildly sexual,but downright romantic decadent plot, in a not "so distant future",where vampires, but, read as "that same greedy, narcissistic society",glamorous creatures of the night,"the undead" have taken over the humanspecies, while, selfishly, starting to enforce pleasure anddegeneration,encouraging consumerism and superficiality, but, at thesame time, without ever allowing a true freedom to those who honestlyjust try to live their own lives far from hypocrisy,or from "thoseapparently liberated schemes" here "arrangements" to manipulate, adishonest,often corrupted system,made of superstitions and unspokensecrets,reminding certain fascist terror,typical of dictatorships orCountries whose power had been built over innocents' blood, and, theworst crimes, such as in fact, conformism, outrage and abuse of thesame laws or constitution,often offer oppression as the ultimate scope.Now,this is not a political film, but, it's a pity the creators didn'tfollow more of the original subtext of the piece,its moral, existentialfortitude,instead to let a more commercial and "safer" style, takingover,to satisfy the numerous fans of the cult,and, those of theprincipal makers. The story of a sensitive,angelic human,Samuel,who'smade a prisoner first,by the handsome,valorous hunter,Eros, then, asexual slave, by the lecherous Emperor of this tyrannical legacy,Dionysus,it's just the main pretext to immediately show how a lack offreedom is key to an existence ruled by tyrants,even in a place whereevery custom seems to be "accepted",but,never fully granted,by thepeople at the power,and, by their orgiastic courtesans. If,the 2handsome leads, ex model,and,executive producer, DomizianoArcangeli,and, ex gay porn superstar,David Taylor,at his firstmainstream acting appearance, often seem to want to "express" more withtheir glances,than with the words available in the script, theycertainly do make for one of the sexiest,vampire's couples ever seen inGay/Bisexual's films,and, their smart director,exploitation Guru's,Creep Creepersin, who also wrote the script, does indeed not miss achance to film carefully all the right occasions to have Taylorattacking Arcangeli, to quickly get to the point,where the 2 actorsmust furiously getting a rid of their clothing,showing withexuberance,all the skin they could possibly bare,then erupting ineffusions,so heavily erotic,they almost get to the very limits ofhardcore,even though,always carrying and holding within them,true,dense sensuality and even,sexuality,without ever really,at theend,trespassing the fine line,between legit acting,and,the real thing(like in the awfully sensationalistic "L.A. Vampires",a disappointment,from director,Bruce LaBruce). Unfortunately the complex,often,verycontrived plot, never really reaches to the more interesting, deepernature,that seems to be laying at its origin's,but,it has still plentyof beautiful moments,rich of Genre's suggestions to be quiteentertaining,shockingly thrilling, especially, to those who know how toappreciate an Horror flick. If,"The Brides of Sodom" is unashamedlyfilled with an extravagant mix of gore galore and a rich ensemble ofGoth,S/M,extremely bloody, sex thirsty Vampires,like in somefilthy,provocative moments,typical of pulp narrative,or even,of someexploitative Anne Rice's novels, this movie is most notable,for itsatmospheres,thanks to a moody, mostly dark,heavily saturatedcinematography,for its extremely "Caligula" alike, sets andscenarios,offering even a second sub plot,taking place in somegrittier, post apocalyptic nocturnal exteriors, where a stalking moonlights up blood thirsty creatures of any kind,along with some ravagedhumans left over's,and,our 2 main lovers are where to celebratenow,some sort of "feral honeymoon".Later,the story focuses on Eros'sincestuous sister,too,a semi lesbian,quirky Princess, who's foolishlyin love with her brother,but, eventually would take to bed evenSamuel,with the hope to save the Empire from the cruelty of the villainDionysus("The Lair"Dylan Vox, other Genre's star)who's just alsoembittered by loosing Eros,as well,and,just to the now, ex human,Samuel(it's Eros,making him a vampire, so the 2 hunks can finallybecome lovers)who eventually will get himself in the graces ofDionysus,but,only to further in a secret plan,that will compromiseeveryone's happiness and future.The Princess, who's searching somehappiness she can never find,spends her days making love to gorgeousyoung ingénues,lovely naked girls who are brought to her,by thesoldiers Satroi(amusingly performed by an ensemble featuring somehandsome porn stars and/or underwear's hottest models),to give you,heremore of a scene featuring,in the best old fashioned, Euro'sexploitation's tradition,some extremely gory lesbian,orgiasticscene,provoking ultimately the Princess,who slashes the poor girls,withthe fury of her insatiable fangs! The movie's more of alavish,"tripper"odyssey, into the realm of Erotica,and,alternativelifestyles, with unforgettable male sex scenes,and,a celebration ofEuro's Horror's from the 1970's.So, if you are into a fun, erotic,and,homo erotic, film/roller coaster's drive,cast with savvy intuition,featuring gorgeous,ambiguous vampires, sexy witches and violence'sobsessed lurid courtesans(there's Beverly Lynne,Skinemax's queen andmain star, performing a Nazi looking female warden to an S/M'sdungeon!),and,by many handsome and muscular young boys and bosom's hotingénues,often in the semi nude, a colorful show, displaying with alittle malice,the fun times, and,the decadence of an Empire,and itsFall(it seems,it's all fault, at the end, of actor Peter Stickles,from"Short Bus"&"The Lair",who plays an almost mute, but, extremelyseductive "Book Keeper")if you'd like to spend an evening Streaminging anHorror film, without the usual "historically believable"vampiresreferences,but a truly sexy film (must tell you, personally haveenjoyed a lot more this one,than those boring,teased up,all the samedisappointing episodes,of something more ordinary,like "TrueBlood")here,you may get a way more liberated,provocative, and, alwaysvery original, guilty pleasure, a movie, where dreaming or gettingaroused by a clever combination of classic, lush,and revamped Cult'selements, at the end will have its pay off!

Even though it's bloody, I am fascinated when a sexy creature cuddledthe prey with love. The movie makes me feel the horror and horny bigtime!The movie is just fascinating, with smelly sweat and blood thatmix with romance, I feel the fetish of blood of these vampires. Vampireis bloody, cruel yet capable of love. This one is more realistic thanTwillight... Wow, I am breathless when I see the blood cover the veinof the vampire rough, sexy arm. Magic! The hunter whose been kissed bythe vampire is so dreamy, but not dreamier than the vampire. The girlis ugly, so she suited to be the antagonist of the movie. First fewlines are the thing I wanted to say, I just think this is horny freakynice!
